Prolific portrait and landscape artist Bill Gatt is set to open an art exhibition at a south Belfast church hall complex to showcase the work of local artists.

Over 400 paintings by local artists will be available to view and purchase as part of the 2015 Newtownbreda Presbyterian Church Art Exhibition, which is open to the public today (May 21), 10am-9pm, May 22, 10am-9pm and May 23, 10am-5pm.

The three day exhibition will provide something for every artistic taste and budget to enjoy, with 128 contributing painters ranging in expertise from talented school children, budding amateurs and noted prize winners who regularly hold stand-alone shows of their work.

Moira-based Janice Lightowler will, for example, exhibit work; she has sold her art in galleries in Dublin and London and, following exhibitions at the Royal Ulster Academy and Dublin’s Royal Hibernian Academy, was selected to participate in the UTV Art Collection.

There will be artwork available to buy ranging in price from £35 to £870.
