'˜I don't like changing products'

Denise, who lives in Lisburn with her husband and two daughters Samantha and Beth, has been a familiar face on our screens for over 20 years.

As well as presenting on television and the radio, she is also an ambassador for Women’s Football and is passionate about sport.

Despite being up at the crack of dawn each morning for her popular radio show with Maurice Jay, Denise makes sure her make up is always in place. After all, you never know when a photographer will be lurking to snap a photo of you.

“I get up at 5.20am Monday to Friday but I put a full face of make-up on,” explained Denise. “I’m in my mid 40s and folk would think I’m sick if I go barefaced. Also, even though I do a breakfast radio show, I may need to do photos for the U105 Facebook or Twitter sites and I want to look groomed.”

Denise’s make up bag is filled with some of her favourite products that she couldn’t be without. “I use Clarins foundation

Skin illusion (Beige),” she revealed. “It’s silky smooth and not too heavy. I use No7 Bronzer put on with a Ciara Daly Hero Brush. I always pencil on my brows with a Rimmel dark brown pencil and I use Rimmel eye shadow too. The mascara is No7 intense volume and eye pencil No7 Stay perfect in black.”

After many years of using a particular brand, Denise decided it was time for a change and switched over to Clarins after a consultation. “I used Lancôme foundation for over 20 years then got bored so I had a long chat with the Clarins rep and found my perfect foundation.”

And after wearing make up from the early hours of the morning, Denise knows that it is very important to make sure her skin is clean every night before bed. “I always take my make-up off at night,” she insisted. “I wear lots of dark eye make-up and No7 is the best eye make-up remover in the world. I use Elizabeth Arden Good night Sleep cream before bed too. ”

With her early starts, concealer is a must have for Denise and was the last makeup product she bought. “I think I have dark circles with all my early starts so I bought a fab concealer called ‘Kick Ass’ by Soap & Glory.”

Denise prides herself on being loyal to the brands she loves and her favourite item in her makeup bag is her perfume. “I don’t like changing products,” she explained. ”I’m very loyal. Once I find something that works I stick with it. I’m big on scent and I love my gorgeous Jo Malone Dark Amber & Ginger Lily perfume.”

To change up her look at night Denise wears the same amount of makeup but adds in a few extra touches. ”I put on even more dark eyeliner and a dark lip colour,” she added.
