Relive the swinging 60s when The Kinks musical Sunny Afternoon comes to the Grand Opera House in Belfast from May 2-6.

Winner of the 2015 Olivier Award for Best New Musical, Sunny Afternoon is an irresistible musical with slick theatricality and ingenious storytelling at its heart. It tells the captivating tale of how one of Britain’s greatest bands, The Kinks, rose to stardom.

Featuring the iconic hits You Really Got Me, Waterloo Sunset, Dedicated Follower of Fashion, All Day and All of the Night, Lola, Sunny Afternoon and many more, this production fizzes with energy, and is a fresh new Great British Musical (The Times) that will make your spirits soar.

Ryan O’Donnell, who play Ray Davies, said: “You meet the boys in their late teens when they are getting together and follow the story of how they became The Kinks and shot to stardom. Then you see the breakdown of that when they get banned from America. It is a jukebox musical but there is a really decent script as well. We perform a lot of the songs as live gigs and everyone stage plays their own instruments.”

Looking forward to what will be only his second visit to Belfast, Ryan is sure the local audience will have a great night out at the show.

Tickets are on sale from the Box Office.
