A national awarding organisation with more than 40 years’ experience in developing land-based and environmental training and qualifications, Lantra has always strove to raise skills and boost business in agriculture.

Lantra’s Business Development Manager, Paula Smyth comments: “Having a competent workforce with the requisite skills for performing their jobs safety and effectively is crucial - particularly in farming. The Commitment to Training Award will enable individuals and companies to celebrate their ongoing commitment to ensuring staff are fully trained and skilled in their roles.”

The award highlights how training and development opportunities can also benefit employers as well as employees. Well trained, competent and motivated staff can lead to significantly improved employee retention and company loyalty, as well as boost productivity, profit and performance.

Paula adds: “The Award will highlight the importance of training to the wider industry and Lantra hopes it will encourage agricultural businesses to invest in training and raising skills for many years to come.”
