Ten additional females and two additional males have died after testing positive for Covid-19 within the last 28 days, the Department of Health (DoH) has reported.

Ten of the deaths occurred in hospitals in Northern Ireland while the remaining two occurred in a residential/care home.

Four of the deceased were aged between 60 and 79 and eight were 80 or older.

It takes Northern Ireland’s death toll to 901.

The DoH also reported 487 new infections - it’s a decrease from yesterday when 518 new infections were recorded.

It takes the total number of infections in Northern Ireland from the beginning of the pandemic to 48,716.

There was an increase of four new in-patients with Covid-19 in hospitals over the last 24 hours - the total now stands at 456.

The number of patients occupying intensives care unit (ICU) beds in Northern Ireland has decreased by three in the last 24 hours to 41.

There are 136 ICU beds currently available in Northern Ireland - 31 of which are currently unoccupied.
