Brexit must take precedence

The purpose of the British prime minister to call a snap general election was to hopefully have her hand strengthened for the Brexit negotiations.

Ironically her hand was weakened, rather than strengthened, by the result of this election.

Her critics immediately jump on the band-wagon, mouthing inane accusations of condemnation for calling the election, personally I view such acts applying to that old adage, ie the person who never made a mistake, never made anything.

However, beyond all unquestionable doubt, Britain’s departure from the EU must take precedence over any other issue, be it political or personal.

The Conservative Party members, each and everyone, must pledge their full support to Theresa, and her negotiating team, to attain the best possible deal for Britain.

To Theresa May’s credit, she has stated that she believes no deal is better than a bad deal.

Bearing that in mind, the interests of both Britain and the European Union would be best served by each party adopting a civilised approach to the negotiations, as failure to do so would penalise both parties.
