Tributes paid to ‘wonderful teacher’ after body discovered in NI search for missing person - PSNI say death ‘not being treated as suspicious at this time’

It is understood the body of a woman was found in the Portrush area after 40 volunteer Community Rescue search technicians, HM Coastguard Teams from Coleraine & Ballycastle, PSNI, Air Support, along with the All Weather and Inshore lifeboat were involved in the search.
The multi-agency search was called after a woman went missing yesterday - and a body was recovered just after midnight on the coast.
It is believed to be that of missing person Edwina Beattie

Hide AdA PSNI spokesman said: “Police can confirm that the body of a woman has been recovered in the Portrush area.
“A post mortem will be carried out in due course however the death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.”
Tributes have been paid to Ms Beattie on social media.
“Edwina Beattie was one of the best English teachers whom I have ever had teach me,” said one. “I want to let the family know that I am so sorry. All our prayers are with you.”
Another added: “Absolutely gutted. Mrs Beattie was one of my favourite teachers at St.Joseph’s, English was my favourite subject and she always pushed me to excel. So so sad. Thinking of her friends, family, and colleagues.”
