Outlook

A band of rain will push north across all of Northern Ireland this evening and into Tuesday.

Rain will be heavy at times with most areas seeing 10-15 mm.

The wettest spots, likely those exposed to brisk east or southeasterly winds across the eastern half of Northern Ireland, could see 25-30 mm of rain.

Given recent wet weather and saturated ground, some disruption from flooding is likely.

Rain will clear to scattered showers by dawn.

What should I do?

Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary.

Check if your property could be at risk of flooding. If so, consider preparing a flood plan and an emergency flood kit.

Be prepared for weather warnings to change quickly: when a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area.
