No DIY haircuts for Fergusons as they help Christian Aid

A Cookstown couple have been praised for donating to charity the money they saved by not visiting the hairdresser or barber during lockdown.

Roberta and Lorwry Ferguson have resisted the urge to attempt a DIY haircut but admit they’re looking forward to getting their hair cut as restrictions are eased.

Roberta explained why she and Lowry had made the donation: “I’ve been supporting Christian Aid for over 30 years and every year during Christian Aid Week I collect door-to-door in the town.

“The lockdown meant we had to cancel the collection, so I was happy to donate the money I’d saved by not visiting the hairdresser.

“I now have an appointment made with my hairdresser and I’m counting the days to get myself tidied up.”

The pair have supported Christian Aid as members of Cookstown Methodist Church.”
