Man charged after Newtownards robbery bid

Detectives have charged a 33-year-old man with attempted robbery and carrying a firearm.

He is due to appear at Downpatrick Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday, 24 July.

It is understood it relates to an attempted armed robbery at commercial premises on East Street, Newtownards on Saturday.
