Pair hijack man's car in Belfast

Two men forced a driver from his car in Belfast before making off in his vehicle, police have revealed.

Detectives from Musgrave Reactive and Organised Crime Branch are appealing for information on the hijacking, which took place at Adelaide Park in south Belfast at 5.30pm on Sunday evening.

Detective Sergeant Hawthorne said the male driver was “forced from his vehicle by two males and the Black Suzuki car he had been driving was stolen”.

The offenders made off in the vehicle along Adelaide Park towards Lisburn Road, he added.

The vehicle was later recovered by police at Pembroke Loop Road in west Belfast.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have noticed any activity in either area or who has information to contact detectives on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 914 of 19/2/2017.
