Cut the rural 60mph speed limit

I have commented before about the madness of allowing people to drive at 60 miles per hour along country roads.

We have seen so many fatalities on our roads this year already.

You see so much horrendous driving when you are cycling and walking on country roads.

So many are going too fast, some overtaking on the brow of a hill or overtaking on a corner.

With so many houses having been allowed to be built in villages, rural towns and in the countryside it automatically brings more cars.

What chance have you of stopping at 60 miles per hour if there is a farm vehicle or a cyclist around the corner?

It is also sad to see hares and other wildlife lying run over on the roads.

I have little doubt that if people were not going so fast they would be able to avoid hitting and killing some of the wildlife.

With all the fatalities and accidents on our roads, when are the authorities going to take the bull by the horns and reduce the speed limit?
