PSNI warn of delays and ask fans to be considerate ahead of NI match

The PSNI have reminded motorists that the national football team are set to play tonight in south Belfast, and that traffic disruption can be expected.

Northern Ireland are playing Belarus in an friendly match at Windsor Park, with kick off at 7.45pm.

The PSNI said there could be traffic queues in the nearby area from 6pm to 8pm and 9.30pm to 10.30pm.

They also said in a statement: “Fans are requested to leave plenty of time for their journey and show consideration for local residents and business’s when deciding where and how to park.

Police will be placing cones near the National Stadium at Windsor Park to facilitate event and pedestrian safety and emergency vehicle success to the ground.

Motorists are requested to comply with these parking restrictions to maximise spectator and community safety.”
