Tributes pour in after passing of top hairdresser David Aumonier

Tributes have been paid to top Northern Ireland hairdresser David Aumonier who has passed away.

The giant in the world of hairdressing died earlier today.

Lawrain Aumonier, his wife, this morning wrote on her Facebook page: “Good morning lovely people, David passed away early this morning peacefully in his sleep surrounded be his loving family xx”.

Meanwhile fellow hairdresser Paul Stafford, also on Facebook described David as “a colossus of a figure” in the industry.

“Numbed by the heartbreaking news of David Aumonier passing, a colossus of a figure in hairdressing, an incredible charismatic, generous , loving family man.”

He added: “His kind words , bear hugs and friendship ..... You left an immeasurable Mark on me DA and I’m glad I got the chance to tell you.

“Hairdressing has lost a great hero, we all have lost a great friend.

“Thoughts are with Lawrain Aumonier Paris and Davis.”

Cool FM DJ Pete Snodden also paid his respects.

“Mr Football’ was nothing but a gentleman. Privileged to have known him. Thinking of you all at this terrible time,” he said.

And fellow hairdresser Brenda Shankey wrote: “My love, thoughts and wishes with Lawrain Aumonier and kids today. It’s with sadness we say goodbye today to one of Northern Irelands iconic Hairdresser’s David Aumonier. A beautiful vivacious character who inspired and innovated Hairdressing in Northern Ireland. Once met but never forgotten. Be still fabulous one xxx From Brenda and Jason Shankey xx”.
