Nato, not Russia, is the aggressor

I was most disappointed that Tom Elliott MP in his love letter to Nato (September 3) gave us the usual anti-Russian propaganda.

He talks about the (so-called) Russian annexation of Crimea destabilising the region. The Crimea is a populated by Russian speaking people who voted by an overwhelming majority to be Russian. Again this was democracy in action.

Tom conveniently ignores how destabilising the ousting of the legally elected Ukranian president Victor Yanukovych was.

This ousting was supported by the USA and EU so they could gain a foothold for Nato on the very borders of the Russian federation.

Tom also tells us of Nato’s commitment to bolster defence in the east and their plans to deploy four multi-national battalions to the three Baltic states and Poland, from early next year.

This expansion by Nato into eastern Europe is provocative and aggressive to Russia – how else would you describe deploying Nato troops on Russia’s doorstep?

Tom Elliott should face facts – Russia poses no threat.

Indeed the threat comes from the war mongering USA and its Nato puppet.
