We cannot know if SF leader is in hell

David Burrows in his letter (March 27) declared that Martin McGuinness was in hell.

How does he know this?

Was there no gospel for Martin?

Does he know for certain that Martin McGuinness never trusted Christ before his death?

I myself am a bible believing Christian. David quoted that “no murderer hath eternal life” and generally left the matter there.

I’m sorry but it’s unbiblical to only preach half a gospel. Here is what my bible says “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”.

I wonder how we should explain the murderer Moses being on the mount of transfiguration along with The Lord himself?

Moses would be alarmed to have read David’s News Letter piece!

I wonder how we should explain God’s choice of Paul who arranged (if not carried out) many murders of the first Christians? I wonder what we should make of the Lord’s attitude, who as murderous thugs nailed him to a tree prayed for them saying “father forgive them, they know not what they do”?

Let me be clear. I believe in heaven and hell.

I believe a man or woman needs to repent of sin and trust the Lord alone for salvation. However I unashamedly believe in and affirm the grace of God for the who so ever will.

A matter sadly lacking in many people’s theology. I believe in the God who can save an apostle Paul, and if he can save a Paul whom can he not save?

The only person who truly knows where Martin McGuinness had his faith placed in the end is Christ.

Let’s hope he was saved and let’s leave it to the judge of all the earth to do the judging.

It’s precisely because I know Jesus that I for one will not be surprised if when I arrive in heaven I will find both Martin McGuinness and Ian Paisley yet again beside each other as they praise the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Now that would be “amazing grace”.

Thank God the gospel is for all.

Thank God he so loved the world that he gave his only son that who so ever believes on him shall not perish but shall have ever lasting life.

What a blessed God! And what a glorious gospel we have for this sin sick world! Let’s preach that!
