“My opponent is durable and tough, and he has take a lot of good heavyweights from England and Ireland the distance.

“If I get the stoppage against him it it make people sit up and take notice. It would be a big statement.

“But I won’t go out all guns blazing. This is eight rounds, and if I go the distance then it will be eight solid rounds in the tank.

“I can’t wait to get in there. It is a big show and I am itching to get back to action.”

And the Dubliner hopes a victory in Belfast will get him a shot at the Irish title

“I want to get your man out of the way and then fight for an Irish title.

“That is my aim and I am determined to get that belt,” he added.

Also on Friday night’s card Alfredo Meli (12-0-1) fights Laszlo Fazekas (30-26-1) over six rounds.

Tyrone McCullagh (5-0) tackles Michael Barnor (14-8-2) while Anto Upton (13-1) faces a six-rounder against Zaurs Sadihovs (4-14).

Vetrean Ian Tims (12-3) is also on the card, while Stephen Ormond (23-3) takes on Norwin Galo (7-7) and Belfast’s Ciaran McVarnock will test himself against (6-0-1) Antonio Horvatic (10-31).
