Haveron’s men sit second bottom in the Danske Bank Premiership table, just two points above basement club Warrenpoint Town – but with a game in hand.

Carrick’s next two assignments are back-to-back games with champions Crusaders, highlighting the size of the challenge facing the Taylor’s Avenue outfit.

And Haveron admits it is going to be a fight to the last day of the season.

“It is going to go right to the wire. All we can do is make sure our destiny is in our own hands come the last day of the season,” Haveron said.

“Our next two games are against Crusaders which are obviously massive challenges for us. They dropped points last weekend which probably hasn’t helped our cause, they will certainly be fired up.”
