Dungannon Swifts’ controversial late goal against Warrenpoint Town last week saved the Mallards from automatic relegation.

They now face a two-legged play-off against Championship 1 side Institute to see who will play in the top flight next season.

“That Dungannon goal has handed us a lifeline,” said Anderson, whose side travel to Dumahoe for Friday night’s first leg.

“At one stage last week we were safe, and then we were looking at relegation, and then we were off the bottom.

“It was a rollercoaster of emotions, but thankfully we survived and we now have to make the most of this second chance.

“I watched Institute in the Intermediate Cup final on Monday night, and they are a good side.

“They will fancy their chances, especially at home on Friday night. But we will go there with confidence.”
