The visitors closed the gap on second-placed Wales – beaten 1-0 at home by Group C leaders Norway – despite having goalkeeper Jackie Burns sent off in the first half.
Burns was dismissed for bringing down Anastasia Shcherbachenia with the Belarus captain through on goal.

Northern Ireland trail Wales by three points but have a game in hand on their British rivals.
