Arlene Foster and ex-Corrie star Charlie Lawson to front Twelfth live broadcasts by GB News

Dame Arlene Foster and ex-Coronation Street star Charlie Lawson are to front Twelfth live coverage by GB News on Monday.

On Monday the channel will be broadcasting live from Royal Hillsborough, showing the pageantry, music and community spirit that define the day along with exploring the history behind the celebrations marking the anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne.

Viewers can expect live reports from the field, interviews with participants and organisers, and analysis of what the day means for communities across Northern Ireland.

Presenting duties once again fall to a returning Dame Arlene Foster, alongside Coronation Street actor and commentator Charlie Lawson and GB News correspondent Dougie Beattie, who has fronted the channel’s Twelfth coverage for each of the last five years.

He said: “Once again GB News will be bringing viewers the very best coverage. Moving the parades to the Monday hasn’t dimmed the enthusiasm one bit – if anything, there’s a real sense of anticipation building for what promises to be one of the best series of parades in years.”

With the date shift pushing celebrations into the working week, organisers say attendances are expected to remain strong, with families and visitors continuing to travel from across the UK and further afield to take in the sights and sounds of the Twelfth.

GB News presence at Royal Hillsborough builds on several years of dedicated coverage of the parades, the channel stating it is the place TV viewers turn to for “authentic, on-the-ground reporting of one of Northern Ireland's most significant cultural events”.
