Big Telly Theatre Company serves up some tasty treats

Big Telly Theatre Company has will be hosting free workshops for kids, families and foodies as part of their St. Patrick’s Day Food Festival this weekend (March 20-21).

The event is fully funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and is a collaboration with the fantastic Paula McIntrye MBE.

The line up of events includes:

SATURDAY MARCH 20

Breakfast 11am - Savoury and Sweet Soda Farls. One man’s determination to get UNESCO World Heritage status for the not so humble Soda Farl. But what or rather who is going to stand in his way? Age: 7+

Afternoon Tea 3pm - Scones and cheesecakes. Felicity Crumpet-Quavers formally invites you to afternoon tea, her personal chef Paula McIntyre will whip up some treats during a cook-along with her and her fabulous friends! Age: 9+

Midnight Feast 11pm - Cheese toasties and chilli chocolate. They say eating cheese late at night can summon the dead. Join Gary Crossan on the last watch, one hour before midnight, as he shares supernatural stories of that which resides in the dark. Age: 14+

SUNDAY MARCH 21

Brunch 11am - Smoked fish, boxty with a free range egg. Whilst your Boxty cooks - Come aboard an enchanted boat trip on Lough Neagh in search of a singing mermaid - meet a talking eel and be sure to wear warm clothes as it can be chilly out on the water, especially if we should fall in! Age: 5+

Picnic 3pm - Pixie pancakes and puff pastry pictures. Teddy bears, foraging and faerie folk. Ms. Cuddlesworth Pinky Bear II cordially invites you to The Teddy’s Bears’ Picnic. Teddy Bear’s may bring their humans IF they are well behaved. Age: 4+

Sunday Roast 6pm - Roast lamb with all the trimmings. The old home is being sold, and the clan has gathered for one last Sunday Roast. It’s a shame there’s nothing we can do to save this place and its stories. Or is there? Age: 9+
