Quinn Building Products’ in-house technical team has worked with visual technologists and programmers from the college to produce the home which goes on show today at the Ecobuild Exhibition at the ExCel, London, until Thursday.

By combining cutting edge technology with strategic thinking, the firm has created an immersive virtual, physical and digital experience for customers to see for themselves the properties, performance and data of the products within the Quinn Lite and Quinn Therm insulation ranges.

Paul Melanophy, business change manager said, “It is no longer enough to simply talk about the performance of our products.

“Customers are demanding a more engaging and highly visual experience, which is why we wanted them to see for themselves exactly how the Quinn Building Products range works together to provide solutions.

“We are always looking for new ways to demonstrate and communicate the performance of our products with our customers and what better way to do this than to create a virtual environment where they can enter, engage and experience this first-hand. South West College have helped us to achieve this.”

Specification manager Jason Martin added: “It’s a pretty cool way to bring to life what can otherwise be a complex set of technical drawings and numbers.”

Stephen Moss, technology curriculum manager at SWC said: “The Virtual Reality house has the style of an architecturally designed home and is perfectly suited to achieving Passive House Thermal Standards – we wanted to use this to showcase digital construction and design using the most innovative technology available.”
