'A landmark moment': Northern Ireland engineering specialist to expand workforce and international operations following global acquisition
TES Power is expanding its workforce and international operations after being acquired by global electrical infrastructure leader Legrand
TES Power, the Northern Ireland engineering specialist recently acquired by global electrical infrastructure leader Legrand, has announced continued expansion plans following a period of significant international growth.

Headquartered in Cookstown with a major manufacturing operation in Ballykelly, TES has grown from a small engineering business founded by Brian Taylor four decades ago into a leading provider of power distribution and critical infrastructure solutions for the global data centre market.
Originally established as a specialist in water management and treatment systems serving commercial and industrial clients across Ireland and the UK, the company has evolved into an international operator supplying high-specification electrical infrastructure for data centres and mission-critical environments across Europe and the United States.

The acquisition by Legrand marks a major milestone for the Northern Ireland business and is expected to support further international expansion while maintaining operations and investment locally.
In recent years, TES has expanded its workforce to more than 300 employees while increasing revenues to £72m, driven by growing demand for data centre infrastructure across Europe.
The company recently opened a new 300,000 sq ft manufacturing campus in County Londonderry to support increasing global demand for power distribution systems used in critical infrastructure projects.

Alongside its commercial growth, TES has continued to invest heavily in skills development and local employment, including apprenticeship and graduate programmes. The business offered 30 apprenticeships during 2025 and continues to recruit across a range of roles including electrical engineering, manufacturing, project management, CAD design, procurement, quality assurance and administration.
Michael Beagan, managing director of TES Power, described the Legrand acquisition as “a landmark moment for TES”.
He said the deal would provide “the perfect platform for TES to further expand our international presence while remaining deeply committed to our roots in Northern Ireland”.
The company said the acquisition positions TES for the next phase of growth as demand for advanced electrical infrastructure and data centre technologies continues to accelerate globally.
