'A powerful statement of confidence': Lisburn firm announces £20m investment and more than 100 new jobs in Northren Ireland
Major growth programme reinforces Northern Ireland's position in energy innovation and digital grid technology
Lisburn engineering firm Camlin Group has announced a major growth and investment programme involving an initial £20m investment from its parent company Siemens Energy and the creation of more than 100 new high-value jobs in Northern Ireland.

The announcement was made at a special event at Royal Hillsborough Castle, attended by senior representatives from government, industry and the energy sector.
The investment by the firm which makes equipment which monitors the performance of electricity grids represents a significant boost for Northern Ireland's advanced manufacturing and technology sectors.

The new roles will span hardware engineering, software development, data science, operations, manufacturing and business support, creating highly skilled employment opportunities and further strengthening Northern Ireland's reputation as a centre for innovation and digital infrastructure.
The announcement follows Siemens Energy's acquisition of Camlin Group and is expected to deliver wider economic benefits through growth in local supply chains and increased collaboration with universities and innovation centres.
Camlin's technologies provide utilities with real-time insight into the health and performance of critical network assets, helping to improve reliability, strengthen resilience and support the integration of renewable energy.
Its technology is already used by every Distribution Network Operator (DNO) in the UK, as well as major utilities across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific.

Martin McCluskey MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State (Minister for Local Energy and Jobs) at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), said the investment demonstrated the employment opportunities created by the transition to clean energy.
He continued: “The clean energy transition is set to support hundreds of thousands of good jobs and drive growth in every part of the UK.
“The more than 100 new jobs on the way at Camlin and Siemens Energy reflect what that means in practice.
"Thanks to their investment, communities across Northern Ireland will be well placed to seize the opportunities of the industries of the future, develop new skills and benefit from long-term economic growth.”
Peter Cunningham, chief executive of Camlin Group, said the announcement represented a strong vote of confidence in Northern Ireland, its workforce and technology.
He added: “Today's announcement is a powerful statement of confidence in Northern Ireland, our people and our technology.
“The immediate recruitment of more than 100 highly skilled roles is just the beginning.
"Camlin has grown from a small team of engineers into a global technology business whose solutions are helping utilities around the world build smarter, safer and more resilient electricity networks.
“The investment will allow us to accelerate innovation, create high-value careers and expand our international reach while remaining firmly rooted in Northern Ireland.”
