£3.2m investment brings 50 new jobs at child care specialists
Leckey is already market leader and a global player in the manufacture and supply of supportive equipment and successfully exports worldwide.
The firm now aims to increase its product offering and further boost its export sales as a result.

Hide AdThe announcement came during a visit by First and Deputy First Minister Arlene Foster and Martin McGuinness who met staff and were shown around by founding CEO James Leckey.
Describing the Invest NI backed expansion as “an exciting milestone in the strategic growth of the business, he said constant development was key to success.
“Innovation has been central to our success to date and working with Invest NI we are positioning ourselves to move with key trends and developments driving growth in our target markets.”
“Growing our workforce will ensure we have the resources that we need to strengthen our brand and continue to deliver excellent customer service by working collaboratively with parents and therapists.”

“This export focused development will help the company respond to the demands of its customers as well as help shape the future technology available within the mobility market,” she said.
“Invest NI has been working closely with this specialist business to support its product development, skills growth and marketing activities over the last three years. These 50 new jobs being created at Leckey’s is positive news for the Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council area and is another welcome boost for Northern Ireland’s manufacturing industry.”
Recruitment of the 50 new jobs has already started and 18 of the roles are already in place.

“This investment will generate over £1 million annually in additional salaries and offer valuable employment opportunities.

“Leckey products are life enhancing and improving and will assist many people and families to live their daily lives in a way which prior to having access to Leckey products simply wouldn’t have been possible.”

Hide AdInvest NIhas offered the company £715,366 towards its growth plans which involves R&D to design and prototype new products and grow its customer base outside Northern Ireland.
The jobs will be across a range of roles including manufacturing, sales, design, engineering and marketing.
