Awards galore for local Aberdeen Angus breeders

The NI Aberdeen Angus Club recently held their annual awards dinner in Corick Country House Hotel, Clogher.

An enjoyable night was had by all.

After the meal Club Chairman, Alan Cheney, presented some awards that had been won throughout the year on the local show circuit. In addition to this he also announced the winners of the Ballyheather and Cydectin cups.

The Ballyheather Cup, which is for the best exhibitor bred yearling Aberdeen Angus bull, was won by H Mills and B Johnston’s bull Dartrey Exceed R237. The Cyctein cup, for the best exhibitor bred heifer, was won by the Parke Family for their animal Coolermoney Rosanna R482.

The next event in the Club programme is that of the AGM, which will be held on Tuesday 14th March in Dungannon Rugby Club commencing at 8pm. Everyone is welcome to attend especially new breeders that would like to find out more about the breed and the club’s plans for the this year’s Aberdeen Angus UK & Ireland World Forum. The Forum will visit Northern Ireland on the weekend of 24th-25th June.
