For the Ebbage family, their September wedding was more than a ceremony – it was the chance to celebrate together in the place their mum and dad call home, Parkmanor Oaks Care Home.

Residents, family and staff members gathered at the private nursing home in Dunmurry on Wednesday, 10th September to celebrate the love of Sandra & Michael in an intimate humanist ceremony.

While the couple wanted to keep the day low-key, the Parkmanor Oaks team went above and beyond to ensure it was unforgettable, creating an elegant setting for the ceremony, followed by a cosy drinks reception in the home’s bar, and concluding with a beautifully-arranged afternoon tea in the foyer, complete with music and dancing.

During his speech, groom Michael Ebbage expressed his deep appreciation for the team:

"My lovely sister Jenny and I both feel extremely lucky to have found Parkmanor Oaks for mum and dad – not just to be very well cared for, but also to be loved. I can’t praise Claire and all her staff here enough!"

The celebration brought residents, family and staff together, embodying the spirit of the home, which was recently recognised with a Top 20 Care Home in Northern Ireland Award by carehome.co.uk. Operated by the Macklin Group, Parkmanor Oaks prides itself on delivering person-centred care and providing residents with a “Life of Fulfilment” through a vibrant programme of activities, events and meaningful connections.

Claire Black, Manager at Parkmanor Oaks, commented on her unique day at work:

"The wedding on Wednesday will remain a lasting memory for all of us at Parkmanor Oaks. It was an honour to be entrusted with such an important family occasion and to make sure that Iris and Bill, our much-loved residents, could be at the very heart of the wedding day. Thank you to our entire team for always going the extra mile.”
