Belfast engineer launches appliance repair service to reduce waste and cost for community

Belfast local launches Pacifica Local in Northern Ireland
A familiar face in the community is turning his skills to a new local business venture. Experienced appliance engineer Paul Conway has launched Pacifica Local in Belfast, bringing a dependable, repair-first service to households and businesses across Northern Ireland.
Known for his calm under pressure and commitment to helping others, Paul is channelling that same community-first approach into keeping appliances running safely and efficiently.
“I’ve lived here most of my life, so I know the people – and what good service really means to them,” said Paul. “For me, it’s about being there when someone needs a hand, doing the job properly and leaving them with a smile.”

Paul has spent more than a decade in home appliance retail and customer support. Through this experience, he saw a clear need for a dependable, professional repair service in the region.
“The whole experience has been superb so far,” added Paul. “I’m already achieving what I’d set out to achieve – making a difference for local residents and the wider community.”
Looking ahead, Paul plans to take on an apprentice before Christmas, with hopes of building a small team of local engineers to support growing demand in the near future.
“My goal is to become the go-to person for appliance repairs in the area – both for businesses and homeowners – someone people know they can trust for honest, high-quality work.”
Whether it’s a washing machine, cooker or fridge, people don’t want to buy a new appliance if they can possibly avoid it. Paul’s service means a safe repair that saves his customers money and reduces waste heading to landfill.
