Bombardier's C Series makes Dublin debut

The CS100 aircraft will be on static display during the event and will be parked at the Dublin Airport where it will host visitors and media tours.

“Our execution has been flawless in 2016 and as our teams focus on meeting our commitments, we’re taking every opportunity to update the industry on our progress and continue to promote the C Series aircraft worldwide.”

The first CS100 will be delivered to SWISS in June and is expected to enter service in July 2016.

Although claimed to offer operators up to US $13 million in extra value per aircraft through economy and general cost of operation, the CSeries - CS100 and CS300 has suffered significant delays in bringing the aircrfaft to market.

As a result orders have been lower than hoped for.

But with the aircracft due to enter commercial operation next month and with 75 form, orders from US airline Delta , with options on 50 more, the firm is in a considerably more confident mood than late last year when it negotiated a $1 billion bail out with its hoem government in the province of Quebec.

The aircraft features highly efficient engines and also a revolutionary approach to weight-saving.

Key to this is the pioneering, compostite wings developed and built in Belfast.
