Brisk bidding at Balmoral Bull Sales as buyers mean business

The multi-breed sales format is continuing to gain momentum for auctioneer Richard Beattie, as buyers continue to support the concept of 'all breeds - under one roof'.

From the minute the first bull hit the sale ring buyers meant business with prices reaching heights of 3600 guineas. This was paid for “Chatham Josh” a quality all white British Blue bull from Jack & Anne Morrison, Armoy. This was a son of the highly successful stock bull Chatham “Auchenlay Eli2 who has sired a number of sale topping bulls for the Morrisons.

Hot on the heels of this at 3300 guineas was a well made Charolais from the Woodpark herd of Will Short, Omagh. This was a July ‘15 born son of Deeside Gulliver, out of a Corrie Alan dam.

Limousin bulls met with steady trade topping at 3200 guineas paid to J&J Aiken, Dromara. “Carnew Linesman” is by Plumtree Deus and out of a Sympa dam. Ian Davidson & Son sold a pair of quality Limousin bulls to realise 2500 guineas and 2200 guineas respectively.

It was back to the Morrison team for a run of super white British Blue bulls which sold to return an average of £3150.

A single Beef Shorthorn heifer caught the eye selling at 2850 guineas. This flashy red and white heifer from Denise Bailie & sons, Dromara is a daughter of Glenisla Explorer. Embryos from the same willing seller sold for 500 guineas per pair.

Aberdeen Angus bulls reached 2550 guineas paid out to Alywn & Carol Armour for their April ‘15 born son of Wedderlie Net Profit. Moses Irwin cashed his Angus bull in for 2100 guineas. This entry was sired by Blelack Prince Camelot.
