Brownville flock to host Irish Beltex Sheep Breeders Club open evening

David Brown and grandson, Mark Latimer's farm at 97 Millvale Road in Bessbrook is the venue for this year's Irish Beltex Sheep Breeders' Club's open evening which is being held this Friday, 22nd July from 6.00pm onwards.

David and Mark are well known Beltex breeders who have enjoyed considerable success both in show circles and commercially over the years and indeed their Brownville flock currently holds champion flock status within the Irish club.

At this year’s Balmoral Show the Bessbrook-based breeders came out top in the shearling ram class and the ewe lamb class while at the Irish Nationals last month the pair enjoyed a hat-trick of wins taking the honours in the ram lamb born after 1st March 2016 class, the ewe lamb born before the 1st March 2016 class and the pair of lambs class.

Visitors to the open evening will be able to see first-hand the evidence of such success and both David and Mark are looking forward to welcoming guests.

“The evening is open to anyone that has an interest in Beltex Sheep and everyone will be made most welcome,” said David.

Stock judging, a barbecue and a raffle will form part of the evening’s proceedings and Animex and Parklands will be in attendance to answer any questions that visitors may have.
