Budget Music Videos has developed a website which lets musicians choose their style of music video, add their music and download in a matter of minutes at fraction of the cost and labour of normal music videos.

The company enrolled in Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s Business Engagement Programme, which provides one-to-one mentoring support.

The council helped the company to find its current premises in Market Square, Dromore, and the founder Loraa White has used her story and experience to inspire others by presenting during council’s Enterprise Week, as well as acting as an ambassador for the Digital Youth Programme.

Originally from Carrickfergus, Loraa’s company has been built around the company’s video production core and is addressing the growing need for faster, cheaper and easily accessible content for music makers to promote their product.

Over the last two years, Budget Music Videos has built its ecommerce website with a proof of concept grant from Techstart NI, building custom editing software so musicians can edit their video before they buy.

Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Mealla Campbell, had been due to open Budget Music Videos’ new Dromore premises but the cornvirus pandemic forced a postponement.

She said: “I want to congratulate Budget Music Videos on a successful launch of a product which is undoubtedly a world-class offering.

“The inherent innovation and ingenuity of Loraa and the team has developed a truly unique product which is tapping into a real need in the music industry and the company looks set for global success.

“We are proud to have a thriving digital sector in the borough which council is helping foster, one which is particularly important in keeping the economy moving during the coronavirus pandemic.

“As one of Northern Ireland’s fastest growing and most lucrative industries, we see it as an essential part of the jigsaw which will ensure economic success for this area in the future.”

The company has also collaborated with one of the biggest music platforms for independent music, Reverbnation.com.

With over five million subscribers worldwide, Reverbnation has been promoting Budget Music Videos – one of only 10 companies - on their opportunities page where musicians can shop for companies they want to work with, a chance which arose as a direct result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Loraa White, Director at Budget Music Videos, explained: “I have been in Dromore for five years, hence why the business office is here.

“I lived in London before that, and that is where I started the business then decided to move back to Northern Ireland and still operate in London too. I actually grew up in Carrickfergus.

“Because my work is worldwide, I can base anywhere to be honest. I prefer to base close to my home as it is easier for family life and its close to belfast and dublin for work and airports.

“As we know, musicians starting out do not have a lot of cash, so figuring out a way to help them, was a challenge.

“We wanted to offer more services for musicians to help the whole process, including video marketing and online tutorials, so musicians could be fully armed with everything they need to launch and market their music.

“We have only recently launched the business and it has been a huge success so far.

“I look forward to growing Budget Music Videos further in the coming months internationally and collaborating with more music platforms across Europe and the UK.”
