The open meeting, which is being hosted by Holstein NI, takes place at the Ballinderry Inn near Moira on Wednesday, March 8, commencing at 8pm.

Mr Perreault, and his father Mario - a former president of Holstein Canada, run the world renowned 60-cow Vieux Saule Herd based on 200 acres at Saint Esprit in the Lanaudiere region of Quebec.

The herd’s breeding policy focuses on health, fertility and high type.

Upwards of 12 bulls are sold to AI studs on an annual basis, and Vieux Saule genetics are exported to more than 25 countries.

The Perreault family have a passion for showing and breeding exceptional cattle, and the matriarch of the herd is Vieux Saule Allen Dragonfly EX94 2E 36.

Jimmy attributes the success of the Vieux Saule prefix to genomics, but has introduced red and polled genetics to keep abreast of marketplace demands.
