Events such as that hosted by Kenneth and David McKinstry, which drew almost a 100 fellow farmers to their Magherafelt farmyard.

“The support from farmers, their suppliers, processors and indeed the wider rural community for farm based trials has been most encouraging,” commented AgriSearch general manager Jason Rankin.

“Though over 250 farmers attended our three suckler synchronisation farm walks large numbers could not due to workload at home or in some cases their off farm careers. Hard pressed herd owners, who could benefit from using synchronisation to ensure as many as 80% of their cows calve within a fortnight and to better sires.

“Time browsing the AgriSearch website or talking with fellow farmers and the researchers they work with will be time well spent on the AFBI Balmoral Show stand.”
