Cathy’s rewarded for helping NI women into finance roles

Investec Wealth & Investment (IW&I) has announced that Cathy Brennan, Associate Financial Planning Director, was highly commended at the Women in Financial Advice Awards 2020, in the Financial Adviser of the Year (Scotland & Northern Ireland) category.

Cathy was also nominated for Role Model of the Year.

Cathy is a strong advocate for improving women’s financial futures and increasing the number of women working in financial services, an industry still dominated by men.

She established the Women in Finance NI Lean In circle in Belfast to encourage more women to consider working in finance roles in Northern Ireland and has successfully grown the group, with almost 100 women now involved.

The Women in Financial Advice Awards celebrate the achievements of women working within the financial advice community and the broader financial services sector.

They are about recognising and amplifying the achievements of women in a sector where they continue to be under-represented.

Congratulating Cathy, Leigh Yeaman, Divisional Director and Head of the Belfast Office said: “I am thrilled for Cathy. It is a fitting accolade for her hard work and passion for improving diversity in the financial services industry.”
