As many stores must once again shut their doors to the public as part of the latest measures to combat the spread of Covid-19, many businesses are adopting alternative methods to allow them to continue to offer a service to the public.

To help local businesses in the run up to Christmas, and to provide the public with helpful retail information, Armagh City Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council have developed a web directory entitled ‘Our Borough Online’ which offers a platform for local businesses to promote their services available at this present time including click & collect, online shopping, delivery service, Christmas club etc.

The directory features a link for local business to sign up and be part of this scheme.

As part of the ‘Our Borough Online’ campaign, the council have also produced a series of short videos profiling a selection of local businesses from a variety of sectors, highlighting how they have adapted to the challenges Covid-19 has presented and measures they have put in place to ensure the safety of their staff and customers. The profile videos will appear on the council’s Facebook page over the coming days and weeks at www.facebook.com/armaghbanbridgecraigavon

Speaking about the initiative, Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough, councillor Kevin Savage said: “It is vitally important that we follow the guidelines to help protect ourselves and each other from the dangers of the current pandemic however it is also essential we rally around our local businesses to help them through this difficult period.

“‘Our Borough Online’ provides the ideal opportunity to search for that perfect present or service whilst staying safe and also provides a much needed economic boost to the businesses and traders in our city, towns and villages. I would encourage any local business not already signed up to the directory to avail of this valuable free service.”
