What’s more, the 40,000 word, 200-page, book was written and published in record time, just five weeks!

‘The Book Dad Told Me Not To Write’ contains what the author describes as “nuggets of business wisdom.” It is inspired by his late father’s ability to condense business wisdom into a single line. The author said his father dedicated much of his life to helping those running small businesses. He hopes the book can help many others build successful businesses.

Russ explained: “Sometime during 2019, I called Dad and suggested we should write a book to help all those running a business, based on all the wisdom he’d imparted to me over the years. I own two successful businesses – a blog I began in 2008 that today has millions of readers and a specialist marketing agency that works with some of the best brands in the music and audio technology industry. I know that neither would be as successful as it is now, without the wisdom Dad passed on to me over the years.

“The response he gave is the exact reason why I wanted to write this book. It was a moment of wisdom. Not one wrapped up in lengthy dialogue that would instantly be forgotten, but a pithy one-liner, like the hook of a great song or the punchline of a joke. The world doesn’t need another self-help book, and if people took notice of simple wisdom, we’d need a lot less of them. Plenty of people quote those books, but they don’t actually apply the principles to their lives. However, I believe we do need this book.

“So here it is, the book I was told not to write, filled with one-liners of wisdom. Will you prove Dad wrong?”

The book is available in print and as a Kindle version and is available to buy worldwide from Amazon.
