Council offers online resource to inspire

Local businessman Gregory Bradley is the first to share his story in a new Belfast City Council online resource which aims to inspire people to start their own business and signpost them to the right support.

The founder of globally successful business BLK BOX, Gregory will shares how he took his business from ‘Spare Room to Stellar’ in the new resource for local entrepreneurs.

Councillor David Brooks, Chair of Belfast City Council’s City Growth and Regeneration Committee said: “Encouraging and nurturing entrepreneurship in Belfast is so important to us – and a key part of our Belfast Agenda - so I’m really pleased to see Spare Room to Stellar going live. It’s incredibly inspirational to see and hear how these entrepreneurs have started from humble beginnings in Belfast and with focus, hard work and determination, built their businesses to a point where they’re now enjoying global success. Gregory Bradley of BLK BOX explained: “I started selling dumbbells out of my garage and have ended up designing, manufacturing, and installing state of the art gym facilities globally – and if sharing my story inspires others to give their business idea a shot, I’ll be delighted. Taking a small idea and growing it is what Spare Room to Stellar resource is all about. There’s fantastic support available for people starting out on their own in business – and we want to see more people getting out there and giving it a shot.”

In the coming weeks, people will also hear how Brendan McDowell established B Perfect cosmetics and Annie Irwin set up Suki Tea with business partner Oscar Woolley, taking their small businesses from seedling ideas to achieve international success.
