The new measure has been introduced by Mid Ulster District Council as an added incentive to assist those considering business start-up, joining the programme and committing to starting a business within six months of completing their business plan.

Announcing the new incentive, chair of the Council, councillor Cathal Mallaghan, said he was delighted to be offering the programme, especially during such difficult times for local businesses and entrepreneurs.

Councillor Cathal Mallaghan added: “While we may not know what the future holds from an economic perspective, we do know that Mid Ulster is a region which has built its economy on business start-ups and entrepreneurial spirit.

“For those people who have always thought they’d like to go it alone and develop their own business, this bonus payment which is in addition to the support participants already receive through Go For It, is an added incentive to complete their business plans and make the dreams of being your own boss a reality.

“I would encourage anyone interested in exploring the option of self-employment to contact their local Enterprise Advisor to take their idea forward.”

The deadline for applications is the end of this month. To apply or for more information visit www.midulstercouncil.org/businessstartupgrant.
