Alix Mulholland, Founder of Field Day said: “A few weeks ago, my children and I witnessed an assault on a young woman in Belfast. The image has not left me. It was a frightening and horrible attack, made even more shocking as it happened in broad daylight. Christmas 2020 will be different for all of us, but for women and children living with domestic abuse, the misery will intensify, as the pandemic has escalated abuse.

“As we enter a second lockdown, many women will continue to live with abusive partners, feeling trapped and isolated, and they need our help. Part of our DNA at FieldDay is to give back, and this year we have decided to do Black Friday differently. We will be donating 20 per cent of all online orders made on Friday, November 27 to Women’s Aid in Belfast and Lisburn to help support the vital work they do.

“I felt very helpless when I saw that young woman. Supporting Women’s Aid makes me feel less helpless, because they really help and support victims of abuse. Every penny donated to Women’s Aid, will help the organisation deliver the care and support needed to keep women and children safe and well. Hopefully, together we can help make Christmas a better one for local families affected by domestic violence.”
