McAfee auctions to hold fine furnishings sale this week

This is a fine furnishings sale with lots of period pieces as well as more modern furniture and smaller furnishings, clocks, paintings plus lots of collectibles and silver.

Primarily the contents of two important house clearances the sale has a real mix of furnishings including table and chair sets, display cabinets, chests, occasional tables, pairs and single chairs, cabinets, chests etc etc along with many smaller furnishings including coal boxes, plant stands, stools, lamps and rugs.

Clocks include a choice of three longcase clocks, Vienna and other mantle clocks and include a very nice three piece gilded and ormolu clock set.

A wealth of paintings include works by W H Burns, Manson Blair, Tom Mc Goldrick, AlymerArmstrong, Sam Mc Larnon, Gregory Moore etc and there are lots of equestrian prints, a lovely set of ten double mounted Cecil Aldin prints and other prints.

Other lots include a choice of two music boxes, a cased barograph, nice lots of silver including a silver punch bowl, two canteen of cutlery tables, lots of ceramics and Crystal, a collection of royal crown Derby paper weights, tea and dinner sets including a royal Albert ‘Heirloom’ set and Mary Gregory war.

“It’s a particularly nice sale,” said auctioneer Gerry McAfee. “And we have viewing up and running again, albeit by appointment only.”
