Adding to the existing Poundland offering in Cookstown on James Street, the new additional store will open on Saturday at 9am, one day after the re-opening of all retail across Northern Ireland.

The Orritor Retail Park store will bring the full range of Poundland’s PEP&CO family fashion and home to Cookstown.

Poundland’s range of products also includes groceries such as cereals, soups, tinned meat and fish, pasta and rice, toiletries such as hand wash and soap, home products such as disinfectant, surface cleaner, toilet roll and kitchen roll, and pet food.

Deputy Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Meta Graham said: “The new store opening of Poundland is welcome news for Cookstown, creating nearly 30 jobs for our residents. Coming just one day after the reopening of all non-essential retail, the new Poundland store will play its part in the rebuilding of our local economy. At a time when employment is critical to renewed growth, the new jobs created by Poundland are a fantastic boost for the Mid Ulster district.”

The Cookstown store will also include an extensive range of chilled and frozen food as Poundland extends its range to bring shoppers a wide choice of items at amazing value under one roof. The range includes everyday meals and snacks, pies and pizzas, as well as frozen desserts and ice-cream.

Olivia McLoughlin, Poundland Ireland retail country manager added: “We’re excited about our new store opening in Cookstown as we expand our presence across Mid- Ulster following the opening of our new Dungannon store in December. We already have fantastic loyal customers visiting our James Street Poundland store in Cookstown, who we will continue to welcome there. We can’t wait to say hello to even more people in our additional local location.
