NI aerospace companies recognised for Business Excellence at Farnborough

Northern Ireland ADS members were awarded one third of the prestigious SC21 Business Excellence Awards and 70% of the SC21 Gold Awards at the Farnborough International Airshow.

ADS is the UK trade organisation representing the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors with more than 1,100 member businesses, 135 are which are in Northern Ireland.

The Supply Chains for the 21st Century (SC21) programme is a voluntary programme designed to accelerate the performance and competitiveness of the aerospace and defence sector supply chains and is coordinated by ADS.

Becoming a participant in the programme is free and is endorsed by the Aerospace Growth Partnership, Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy, Invest NI and the Ministry of the Defence as well as leading aerospace and defence companies.

To achieve a gold award a company must have more than 99% on time delivery performance and 99.9% quality performance as well as scoring more than 500 points in business, manufacturing and relationship excellence.

The Northern Ireland companies achieving the Gold Awards are: Moyola Precision Engineering Ltd from Castledawson, Denroy Plastics Ltd from Bangor, IPC Mouldings Ltd from Carrickfergus, RTA Ireland Ltd from Kilkeel and Technical Metals Ltd from Newtownards.
