Some places for ‘start-up bootcamp’ remain open, but closing date is soon

Susan Kelly, CEO of Respiratory Analytics – a company that uses the latest sensor technology in an inhalation training device, combined with cloud hosted data analytics, to help control symptoms for those with respiratory conditions – said that the Londonderry and Strabane district is a prime location for any new business.

“I know from personal experience that the early stages of a company journey are daunting,” she said. “We have such a good support system here in the north-west for new businesses from many different channels, and I would encourage everyone to take advantage of that support, such as this start-up bootcamp, to obtain advice, guidance and the tools needed to make that next step.

“Engaging with like-minded people, sharing experiences and asking questions was pivotal to rounding out our knowledge of where to go next and building a growth mindset. Since setting up Respiratory Analytics late last year, our team has been on an incredible journey and we’re looking forward to the future with real excitement about the potential in this region.”

The bootcamp will be delivered by Ignite NI in partnership with Derry City & Strabane District Council and Ulster University, and supported by Invest Northern Ireland.

It is open to any scalable and technology enabled founders/early stage companies in the Council area who want to build a successful start-up of scale. It will be delivered through a one-day online course on Wednesday, November 25.

Ian Browne, Chief Operating Officer of Ignite NI, said: “There is a lot of growth potential in the Derry and Strabane Council area and we want to stimulate that growth.

“Although we’re navigating a difficult time there is a time of opportunity now for companies to make their mark and to grow, and effectively we want to give them the confidence and the knowledge to do that.”
