Views on Public Space CCTV in Enniskillen and Omagh

The consultation, through the online survey, will provide residents, and businesses, with an opportunity to have their say on the effectiveness, impact and value of public space CCTV in both Enniskillen and Omagh.

Encouraging public participation in the survey Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Diana Armstrong, said: “CCTV can be a useful tool in terms of public safety. I am conscious however, that for cameras to contribute to creating safe environments in our towns, the technology must be updated regularly. To enable the Council to make fully informed decisions on future CCTV provision, it is essential that the views of the public are sought and form part of the process and I would encourage communities, businesses and residents to take part in the survey and to make their views before the March 5 deadline.”

This survey is part of a wider consultation on public space CCTV, which has been commissioned by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and the Police Service of Northern Ireland. Insight Solutions has been appointed to undertake the consultation and will engage with a range of stakeholders across the district. The findings will help inform Council decisions around future provision.

The survey will be available to access on the Council’s website, www.fermanaghomagh.com or on its Facebook page until Friday, March 5.
