Draperstown-based Heron Bros appoint new group managing director

Heron Bros Group, the award-winning construction and property development company based in Draperstown, has announced the appointment of a new group managing director.

Damien O’Callaghan (38) takes up his new role as group managing director, having been with the business since 2012.

He succeeds Damian Heron who held the role from 1998 and who will now take a new role as executive chairman of Heron Bros Group. Terry McDaid will continue as the group non-executive chairman.

A Chartered Accountant by profession, Damien O’Callaghan previously worked in practice and industry before joining the Heron Bros Group as executive manager in 2012 before being promoted to executive director in 2016.

Mr O’Callaghan will have overall responsibility for the Heron Group interests in construction, property development, manufacturing, housing, builder’s merchants and renewable energy in Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland England and Poland.
