DUP's McIlveen is new minister for DAERA

Strangford DUP MLA Michelle McIlveen has been appointed as the Minister for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs.

She has been a member of the Northern Ireland Assembly since 2007 and is a previous Minister of Regional Development.

Ms McIlveen takes over from the previous Sinn Fein Minister Michelle O’Neill who has taken up the health portfolio.
