The new store at Bloomfield Retail Park has created 50 jobs and welcomed 104 shoppers for its opening day

The Food Warehouse has officially opened a new store in Bangor, with 104 customers queuing ahead of the doors opening and 50 new jobs created in the local area.

The new store at Bloomfield Retail Park opened to the public today (Tuesday) with shoppers beginning to arrive from as early as 5.10am.

To mark the opening, £1,500 worth of vouchers were given away to the first 150 customers through the doors.

Customers who joined the queue before 7.45am were also entered into a raffle, with seven shoppers winning Tower air fryers and another taking home a Daewoo double-drawer air fryer.

Visitors could also enjoy a free bacon bap between 7am and 9am, while five other customers were given the chance to take part in a 90-second supermarket sweep-style trolley dash, allowing them to fill their trolleys for free.
