'Everyone was so excited for the grand opening': Shoppers queue overnight ahead of official opening of new Northern Ireland Food Warehouse

Iceland Foods has officially opened a brand-new The Food Warehouse store in Coleraine, with 81 eager customers queuing from as early as 11pm the night before to be among the first through the doors.

The highly anticipated store, located at Riverside Regional Centre, opened to the public on Tuesday, creating 28 new jobs in the local area.

To mark the launch, the retailer gave away £1,500 worth of store vouchers to the first 150 customers in the queue. Shoppers were also entered into a raffle, with prizes including seven Tower Air Fryers and a top prize of a Daewoo Double Drawer Air Fryer.

Five lucky customers were also selected to take part in a 90-second supermarket sweep-style trolley dash, filling their trolleys for free.

Niamh Bradley, store manager at The Food Warehouse, Riverside Regional Centre, said: “We’re so pleased to welcome shoppers to our brand new The Food Warehouse store. Everyone was so excited for the grand opening – people started queuing from 11pm the night before!

“If you haven’t been down yet, make sure to check out our brand-new store and get your hands on some unmissable deals!”

Kristian Barrett, chief operating officer at Iceland Foods, added: “We’re thrilled to have opened our new Coleraine store, ensuring even more local residents can get their hands on amazing deals, alongside a brilliant range of frozen, grocery and fresh foods.”

The new store will be open from 8am-9pm, Monday – Saturdays and 1pm-6pm on Sundays.
